The Face Nation by Unknown Artist

Heritage is not a Choice

Outlook on other heritages

How does one embrace their own heritage? Is it by choice and tradition?

Face of the Nation

I’ve labeled the painting above Face of the Nation. Every nation has a face, no matter what color it is- black, white, brown, tan- whatever you want to call it- it is the Face of the Nation. Culture, tradition, conditions, and methods all come from us. It all comes down to how we were brought up, our culture and our traditions.

For instance, I’m of black-Indian descent and from the south. My parents were originally from Alabama, New Brockton, and Troy. Detroit, Michigan is where I was born. Through the legacy of my parents, my mother is a Black-Indian, and father was Black, I am a Black-Indian because of my Indian-Black ancestor’s blood.

Is this nation actually in existence?

Yes.

Who are the people of mixed African-American and Native American heritage? Black Indians are Native American people who are recognized as Native American, are part of Native American communities and have a Native American culture, as well as having African American ancestry.

Black-Indians are individuals who are born to parents with both African American and Native American heritage.

What race Development Black Indians?

  • African Americans
  • Whites
  • White Indians

When I analyze the Face of the Nation painting, I observe different ethnicities, such as African Americans, Caucasians, and White Indians birthing together. A blend of blood and flesh, making each of us unique in personality, traits, and inner strengths.

In artwork, painting, or photography, it’s neither right nor wrong if you see blue, yellow, red, black, green, or beige. It entitled us to our opinion on how to label and explain a piece of work in our universe. Not everyone will view things the same way that I do, or the same way you do, but that doesn’t make THEM CORRECT.

Culture connects us.

We are the embodiment of the Nation.
